The Daikin One Cloud Open API provides a RESTful cloud interface to remotely monitor and control Daikin One+ Smart Thermostats.

Authorized third-party integrators are allowed to read and write information to and from thermostats connected to the Daikin One Cloud.

These API Terms (“API Terms”)—which fully incorporate by reference the Daikin B2B Terms of Use as published at the time of your acceptance of these Terms—are a binding legal agreement between you and any entity you represent (collectively “you” or “your” or “yourself”), on the one hand, and Goodman Global Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively “Daikin” or “us” or “we” or “our”), on the other hand.

These API Terms govern your access to and use of application programming interfaces (APIs) and an associated API key—collectively, the “API Services” and which are each considered a “Daikin B2B Service” (as defined in the preamble of the Daikin B2B Terms of Use)—to access and interface with various other Daikin B2B Services, including the ability to access and interface with Daikin One smart thermostats and Daikin One accounts associated with such thermostats.

If you do not wish to be bound by these API Terms or the B2B Terms of Use, then you should not access or use the API Services.

A.   B2B Provider

You represent and warrant that you are (i) requesting and using the API Services solely to further a business-to-business (“B2B”) relationship with Daikin, (ii) that you are developing software to interact with the Daikin One smart thermostat, and (iii) that you are trained in or otherwise familiar with software development and security, and are willing to accept the risks associated with using API Services.

B.   The Integration-Token is Your Responsibility.

To access a specific Daikin One smart thermostat, you may receive an integration token from a user or owner of a Daikin One smart thermostat. You are responsible for safety and security of any integration token that is given to you. You further agree that you will not forward that integration token or your API key to a third-party.

C.   Data Collection

Through the API Services, you will be able to collect data about owners and users of Daikin One smart thermostats. You represent and warrant that you have and will adhere to a publicly posted privacy policy that complies with all appropriate laws and regulations in your jurisdiction regarding the use of data and personal information. At a minimum, such policy must disclose what data and information from the API Services you are collecting, how you are using that data and information, and with whom you sharing that data and information. You will also agree to obtain all appropriate permissions necessary to collect and use the data and information you obtain from the API Services.

You agree that Daikin may collect and use, for whatever purpose, any information or data Daikin obtains about your use of the API Services.

D.  Restrictions on Your Use of API Services.

You agree that you will not use the API Services to Daikin’s determinant, including, but not limited to, reverse engineering reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble the API Services or contacting persons who do not have an explicit and preexisting relationship with you.

If your use of the API Services generates a high volume of queries (as determined by Daikin in its sole discretion), Daikin reserves the right to limit, suspend, or terminate your use of the API Services.

E.   Revocation of API Services

You understand and agree that Daikin may—at any time, and for any reason or no reason at all—revoke, limit, suspend, or terminate your right to use or access the API Services, the API without any liability to you and with or without notice to you. Moreover, Daikin may change or other revise the API Services making them, without notice to you, unable to interact or otherwise work with any system or software that you may be using or providing.

F.   Integration of B2B Terms of Use

You understand and agree that these API Terms fully incorporate the B2B Terms of Use, including the

  • limitations of use provided in Section 1.5 thereof;
  • limitations on our liability to you and our disclaimer of any warranties for the Daikin B2B Services in Section 2 thereof; and
  • an arbitration agreement, a class-action waiver, a waiver of jury trials, and other terms that affect how disputes between you and us are resolved in Section 3 thereof.

You are bound by all of the B2B Terms of Use in addition to these API Terms.

If you have any questions or comments about these API Terms, please feel free to submit them to us by emailing IP@GoodmanMFG.com.
